India Buka Sekolah Desain Mobil

Jakarta - Sebuah fasilitas akademis baru di India barat akan dijadikan lokasi dalam menggelar proses belajar mengajar desain otomotif. Sekolah tersebut diperkenalkan dalam gelaran Delhi Auto Expo, bersama dua contoh mobil konsep.

Namanya The DYP-DC Centre for Automotive Research and Studies, terdiri dari lembaga-lembaga akademik dan desainer otomotif ternama Dilip Chhabria, yang merupakan desainer mobil-mobil seperti Aston Martin DB9, Chevy Beat dan Reva EV.

"Seperti cinta, desain adalah masalah hati," ujar sang perancang, dalam acara pembukaan di Delhi Auto Expo, seperti dilansir Worldcarfans, Sabtu (9/1/2010)

Sekolah ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mewujudkan hasil rancangan otomotif yang akan digabungkan dengan dinamika bisnis dan manufakturing otomotif.

Sebagai percontohan, dirancanglah dua model mobil konsep DC Imperator dan Yin Yang Concept. DC Imperator adalah sebuah crossover yang berusaha untuk membuktikan bahwa SUV tidak perlu boxy dan kasar, tapi seksi dan sensual.

The DYP-DC Centre for Automotive Research and Studies akan mulai melakukan penerimaan siswa baru bulan depan, dengan pilihan program tiga tahun sarjana, dan program dua tahun master.

Kegiatan belajar-mengajar yang akan dimulai pada Agustus 2010 tersebut, bakal mengajar para siswanya untuk membangun poryek mobil-mobil sebagai bagian dari pelajaran mereka.
