Richard Jenkins and his Greenbird currently holds the world land speed record for a wind powered vehicle with a speed of 126.1 mph (202.9 km/h). If BMW were to get serious about the Blue Dynamics Land Yacht, I have no doubts that it would probably smash the record. With the killer combination of BMW’s “efficient dynamics” and “active hybrid” greener emmision programs; it’s hard for Blue Dynamics not to succeed. Entry to the cockpit of the vehicle is via the elevating windscreen and the rigid sail adjusts according to the wind direction automatically or manually, through the sail control unit inside the cockpit. You want to enjoy your audio CDs while traveling but you also have a huge MP3 collection at home that you want to take with you. The ideal solution? DMP, a portable music player that supports CD and MP3 files. Use the MP3 player as you normally would, hang it around your neck, clip it on your jeans or place it in your pocket. Otherwise open both sides and insert your favorite CD and you got yourself a CD player my friend. Now that’s music to my ears.   Designer: Yong-Seong Kim

Hooray for designer Arturo Ariño R! I love so very much to do write-ups on wild vehicles such as this. This spectacular automotive goes by the name Phase 2.0 and it’s an all-terrain three-wheeler. It’s got an auto-pressurized tire for adapting to multiple environments such as desert dunes or swamps, its two smaller tires able to move all over the place for either front or rear-wheel situations (the big tire is of course the one that’s always in charge.) Going over irregular terrain, such as rocky regions, the tire pressure is down, going high speeds down the Autobahn, tire pressure is at the max. A.A.R. intends this vehicle to be far off into the future for real life applications, but for science fiction stories, right in the now. Designer: Arturo Ariño R

We are wondering why it is that car manufacturers are tripping over each other inventing boring and redundant “super modern” and “high design” cars, when the end result is a sea of lookalikes. One can no longer recognize a “premium” make from a lower-end car, certainly not by distinctive and recognizable design features.They are unimaginative, uninspiring and suffer from a serious case of follow-itis. As opposed to being leaders and, in particular, design leaders. We see design tweaks and add-on features advertised as if they were a revolution when in fact, there’s nothing really significantly new or exciting. No wonder so many are giving up cars altogether.
